Job Summary:
As a Commercial Banking Relationship Manager at M&T Bank, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of complex and large dollar amount loan and/or deposit relationships with major businesses in the community. Your primary focus will be on soliciting new business, cross-selling, administering, and servicing existing business relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at major businesses in the community, identifying opportunities to grow the bank's business and increase revenue.
• Evaluate credit information and make recommendations on loan and deposit relationships, ensuring the bank's risk management and compliance requirements are met.
• Work closely with internal contacts to service clients, ensuring timely and effective resolution of customer issues and concerns.
• Participate in a formal call program to develop new loan, deposit, and fee-based business, staying up-to-date on market trends and developments to increase the bank's business in established and developing markets.
• Represent the bank in civic and community activities, promoting the bank's brand and reputation.
Scope of Responsibilities:
• Manage and retain existing clients, working closely with internal contacts to service clients and ensure their needs are met.
• Supervise and mentor junior relationship managers, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or four years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of seven years of commercial portfolio management experience, with a strong understanding of financial analysis and banking credit principles.
• General knowledge of banking and the bank's various commercial fee-based products, as well as applied knowledge of bank policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel using diplomacy and tact.
• Ability to sell effectively to prospects and clients, with excellent presentation skills and a strong understanding of the bank's products and services.
Compensation and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $141, $235,264.10 Annual (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
