Job Summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a seasoned professional to oversee the Quality and Product Regulatory Compliance operations for our diverse portfolio of control products used in Building Automation, HVAC, and Commercial Refrigeration systems.

This role involves managing a small team that collaborates closely with product engineering teams and other cross-functional colleagues globally to ensure our products meet and maintain our quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and leadership, with experience in managing teams and navigating certification processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage quality systems and processes for the product team, promoting adherence to quality policies and procedures.
  • Ensure quality requirements are properly accounted for in product development projects.
  • Monitor product quality data to proactively identify and manage issues.
  • Identify and launch continuous improvement initiatives to drive quality improvements.
  • Ensure product returns, quality, and warranty data is analyzed, reported, and actioned appropriately.
  • Maintain a system to track issues through resolution.
  • Stay cognizant of changes and trends in the regulatory landscape to proactively influence product roadmaps and strategies.
  • Work with global product development teams and agency representatives to interpret applicable standards and regulations.
  • Provide regular reports on compliance status and current issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience, with at least 6 years in Quality and Regulatory Compliance related domains.
  • Knowledge of safety agency operations, requirements, and compliance testing.
  • Experience interacting with product safety and governmental agencies, navigating certification processes, and managing certifications and technical file records.
  • Understanding of worldwide product compliance and registration processes.
  • Experience leading and/or managing a team, with an emphasis on coaching and training.
