Job Overview

Position Summary: The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the Work Based Learning (WBL) initiative. This role involves fostering and nurturing positive relationships with various stakeholders, including employers, community organizations, government officials, and the media.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhances the organization's image within the community through active participation in event planning, civic projects, and charitable activities.
  • Oversees the execution and follow-up of the Work Based Learning (WBL) program.
  • Organizes council meetings and keeps members of the Community Relations and Industry Councils informed about the center's developments and challenges.
  • Engages the community by hosting special events for non-profits and charities, collaborating with local educational institutions, and establishing a community relations council.
  • Promotes the center's news, events, and achievements through various media channels, including print and digital platforms.
  • Prepares and submits necessary reports to relevant corporate entities in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Coordinates community service activities and projects that positively impact the local area.
  • Builds partnerships with businesses and community organizations to facilitate job placements for students.
  • Responsible for compiling and submitting activity reports on a regular basis.
  • Acts as the Center Director in their absence and serves as a trusted advisor to the leadership team.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare press releases and present effectively to groups.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and present ideas clearly.
  • Proficient networking, presentation, and follow-up abilities.
  • Experience interfacing with a diverse range of clients, public entities, and community organizations.
  • Ability to identify challenges and develop actionable plans while adapting to changing priorities.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local community and its dynamics.
  • Proficient in standard office software applications.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field is required. Relevant experience may substitute for educational qualifications.
  • A minimum of three years of recent experience in public relations or a similar field.

Additional Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is necessary.

Physical and Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, including office settings and community locations.
  • Physical activities include reading, writing, and communicating effectively, as well as occasional lifting of light objects.
