Product Development Specialist

Actalent is seeking a Product Development Engineer for a client in the Kansas City metro area. This role requires proficiency in SolidWorks with experience designing new products to launch to market. Medical device experience is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, including definition, documentation, prototyping, testing, and debugging.
Evaluate and optimize product concepts for function, manufacturability, packaging, and material handling.
Review and approve finalized engineering product drawings with dimensions, performance specifications, GD&T, and quality specifications.
Generate product prototypes, perform product testing, and ensure new products function properly, meet specifications, and timing objectives.
Develop and evaluate cost analysis for new and modified product concepts from design through production launch.
Maintain engineering documentation, including bills of material, procedures, and other types of engineering documentation in a Document Control Database system.
Conduct engineering studies on design for products, associated subsystems, components, and structures.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Proficiency in SolidWorks.
2-3 years of mechanical design experience, with internships counting towards the requirement.
Familiarity with drawing configuration management control process and changes to designs.
Ability to read and understand schematics.
