Overview

Lean Manufacturing Specialist - Tucker, GA

The Lean Manufacturing Specialist is integral to the establishment, advancement, execution, and continuous enhancement of Lean methodologies. This role is pivotal in guiding Lean practices throughout the organization, assisting in the formation and development of Value Stream teams, and fostering accountability and transparency at all organizational levels. The specialist will oversee various initiatives, consistently applying Lean tools and practices across operations. A primary focus will be on sustainable process enhancements and the assessment and measurement of outcomes. Key objectives include improving overall quality through the application of standard work and 5S methodologies, alongside other Lean tools. Enhancements in productivity and efficiency, as well as the establishment of Kanban systems, will also fall within the responsibilities of this position.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the site's Lean transformation initiatives.
  • Proactively implement and coach Lean methodologies across the organization, facilitating Kaizen events.
  • Assist in developing key performance metrics for various teams throughout the company.
  • Lead and guide cross-functional teams in problem-solving and process improvement efforts.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancement across multiple Value Streams.
  • Support the training and development of yellow, green, and black belt candidates.
  • Implement 5S practices to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis for workflow challenges and waste, determining appropriate Lean tools for improvement.
  • Champion value improvement projects across the organization.
  • Coordinate and lead facility layout and design initiatives.
  • Establish and revise labor standards as necessary.
  • Promote and articulate the company's Lean vision, methodologies, and practices to enhance overall performance.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to management teams on Lean transformation strategies and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and curricula to support ongoing internal capability in Lean applications.
  • Quantify and communicate the financial benefits of Lean improvements to the organization.
  • Offer leadership and technical expertise in the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of facility-related infrastructure.
  • Conduct audits of existing processes and systems to identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications

Required Work Experience:
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a regulated manufacturing environment, such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals.

Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods.

Knowledge:
  • Proven experience in Lean manufacturing and Toyota Production Systems.
  • Experience with financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of process control techniques, including statistical process control and data analysis.
