Position Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Quality Assurance Specialist involves conducting thorough inspections, executing designated tests, completing product certifications and documentation, and ensuring adherence to product development and manufacturing protocols. The specialist will be tasked with performing evaluations on products at various production stages to confirm compliance with customer specifications and uphold company quality standards. Typical responsibilities include:
- Ensuring process adherence by reviewing and comprehending process descriptions, inspection criteria, and machine settings. Regularly conducting walkthroughs of manufacturing areas and documenting compliance or non-compliance.
- Confirming that products are accurately measured, work instructions are adhered to, and processes are followed.
- Assisting in product containment and conducting initial root cause analysis when non-conformances are identified.
- Conducting visual inspections based on established criteria, with the ability to interpret detailed inspection guidelines.
- Utilizing standard measurement tools such as calipers, inspection fixtures, and tensile testers, while being able to read and understand product schematics.
- Documenting relevant information in the inventory system, including product scrap and containment details.
- Performing additional tasks as directed by the Quality Manager, within the scope of the job description.
- Maintaining a tidy and organized workspace, and supporting continuous improvement efforts related to site 5S practices.
Qualifications:
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong attention to detail in record-keeping.
- Effective communication skills with team leaders across Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or similar quality management systems.
- Proficiency in using software applications for data entry and retrieval, including MS Word, Excel, ERP systems, and similar databases.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
