Position Overview:
The Claims Adjuster for Auto Liability and Bodily Injury plays a crucial role in evaluating and managing complex claims related to auto and commercial transportation incidents. This position involves thorough investigations, assessing liability, and determining the extent of damages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage intricate auto and commercial claims, ensuring meticulous documentation and accurate coding.
- Oversee the litigation process for claims that are in dispute.
- Coordinate with external vendors, including independent adjusters, to facilitate comprehensive investigations.
- Notify excess carriers regarding significant claims.
- Develop actionable plans to meet state-mandated contact deadlines and drive claims towards timely resolution.
- Identify subrogation opportunities and manage salvage processes.
- Maintain clear communication regarding claim progress with insured parties, clients, and brokers.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other assigned tasks as necessary.
- Support the organization’s quality initiatives.
- Travel as required for claims-related activities.
Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Relevant professional certifications are a plus, along with the necessary state adjusting licenses.
Experience: A minimum of five years in claims management or a comparable combination of education and experience, with a strong understanding of personal and commercial auto policies.
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of auto insurance policies and relevant legal principles.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and a collaborative mindset.
