About the Role

The Maintenance Specialist provides general maintenance and support to our staff, including the repair and upkeep of infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment. As the liaison between the agency and outside professionals, you will ensure that all repairs or developments of company property are executed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance support to the agency's staff, including the repair and upkeep of infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment
  • Act as the liaison between the agency and outside professionals for repairs or development of company property
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance to prolong the life of appliances, heat and AC, vehicles, and equipment
  • Keep a service record and conduct monthly inspections on all buildings, vehicles, and equipment
  • Ensure reasonable care and safe storage for the agency's property and equipment; purchasing supplies as needed
  • Make reports and recommendations to the Maintenance Supervisor concerning extensive repairs or special services required
  • Work with chemicals, plumbing (including raw sewage) and electricity
  • Maintain the grounds by improving safety, beauty, and function (i.e., mowing, weed eating, clearing brush, edging, flowerbeds, fence, and boarder repair)
  • Assist team in campus holiday decorating including removal and storage
  • Work with and supervise client interns and teach appropriate skills for employment
  • Oversee volunteer groups and their projects
  • Help prioritize projects across the state, travel required
  • Maintain a set of master keys
  • Travel statewide to assist at other sites

  • Able to communicate thoughts and concerns clearly, both orally and in written form
  • Basic computer skills including email, data entry, and reading of reports
  • Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Tolerance to work under adverse conditions
  • Open to learning and willing to use new skills and information
  • Work as part of a team, as well as independently without supervision
