About the Role

This position provides direct patient care at the surgical field, working closely with the physician, anesthesiologist, and other team members to ensure a smooth and successful procedure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgical team in preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring proper patient positioning.
  • Obtain clinical history and perform tests as directed by the practitioner.
  • Interact with patients, families, and guests, providing excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Work well under stress and prioritize tasks effectively to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Develop and maintain a basic understanding of infection control principles to prevent the spread of infection.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Certified Surgical Technologist program.
  • Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist or obtain Certification within one year of employment.
  • CPR certification or must obtain at next available class upon hire.
  • One year experience in a hospital or related healthcare setting, including clinical educational experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under stress and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Developed computer skills and ability to learn and proficiently perform patient care applications.
Working Conditions

This role is typically performed in a hospital clinical environment with frequent standing and walking. Work is subject to interruptions, and there is a risk of occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious hazards.
