About the Role

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) plays a vital role in the operating room team, ensuring safe, efficient, and successful surgical procedures. This individual is responsible for handling instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for surgical procedures, anticipating the needs of the surgeon, and maintaining a sterile field.

Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures
  • Handle and manage surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment
  • Anticipate and meet the needs of the surgeon and other medical professionals
  • Ensure quality patient care during the operative phase
Requirements
  • Current CST certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
  • Completed a military surgical technology program or equivalent experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Member of professional organization (AST) preferred
