As a Group Leader Shipping and Customs, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in the shipping and customs department. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing professional and disciplinary leadership to assigned employees, ensuring a smooth and efficient daily operation
  • Coordinating and managing resources in customs and shipping administration, ensuring compliance with regulations and laws
  • Participating in personnel and budget planning, ensuring the team is equipped to meet the company's goals
  • Ensuring compliance with customs and foreign trade laws and regulations, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Processing customs procedures and formalities, ensuring timely and efficient clearance of shipments
  • Coordinating shipping and customs activities, ensuring seamless communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Continuously optimizing internal and external shipping and customs processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes
  • Creating and maintaining shipping policies, ensuring they align with company requirements and customer needs
  • Handling lessons learned processes, ensuring the team learns from past experiences and applies them to future projects


Bring Your Expertise:

As a Group Leader Shipping and Customs, you will be expected to have:

  • A successfully completed vocational training as a freight forwarder, industrial clerk, or similar qualification, with subsequent further training as a business economist, specialist, or master
  • First leadership experience, with a proven track record of success in a similar role
  • Experience in the field of shipping and customs, with a deep understanding of regulations and laws
  • A quality-conscious and structured way of working, with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy
  • Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
