IO Interactive is on the lookout for a skilled Lead Audio Software Engineer to become a vital part of our backbone team. We are currently engaged in two thrilling game initiatives: Project 007 and Project Fantasy. Project 007 is an innovative James Bond video game that presents a completely original Bond narrative, while Project Fantasy aims to redefine the online fantasy RPG genre for both console and PC platforms.
As we embark on these groundbreaking projects, we require a proficient expert to contribute to the evolution of our cutting-edge proprietary game development engine, Glacier.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design and develop audio functionalities and tools for our unique engine, Glacier. You will be working directly within the engine, enhancing, prioritizing, and optimizing runtime code that powers the game.
- Engage in audio development and systems: creating workflows, tools, and audio systems, both independently and in collaboration with fellow Audio Programmers. Examples include propagation systems, reverb, and managing early versus late reflections.
- Maintain, refine, and enhance existing audio systems.
- Collaborate closely with sound designers to assist in crafting an exceptional audio experience.
Your Profile:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in C++ programming, ideally with a focus on 3D audio.
- Proficiency with audio middleware such as Wwise, FMod, or similar tools.
- Experience in writing efficient runtime and memory-optimized code, along with debugging and managing complex software systems.
- Familiarity with game engines, gameplay programming principles, audio, and audio content creation.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
