TPI, INC is seeking a skilled mechatronics engineer to join our team of experts in automation development. As a key member of our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated systems within our production process.

\

We are looking for a talented individual with a strong background in mechatronics engineering, automation, and robotics. The ideal candidate will have experience with machine path programming, simulation, and implementation using multi-axis or robotic systems. Additionally, knowledge of automated machine cells, CAD software, and scripting languages is highly desirable.

\

This position requires excellent analytical, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills, as well as strong organizational abilities and attention to detail. You will work closely with manufacturing and tooling engineers, collaborating across functional departments to determine existing automation capabilities and future opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automated systems, including programing, simulating, and implementing multi-axis robotic or machine path programs\
  • Evaluate through simulation singular processes through to full factory layouts\
  • Implement sensor technologies and develop specifications for automated systems\
  • Develop tests plans, lead validation efforts, and define equipment acceptance criteria\
  • Identify areas of opportunity for automation solutions and model, simulate, evaluate, and propose them\
  • Conduct research, analyze, and evaluate information, generate and report detailed time studies, and propose standards for automated systems\
  • Create maintenance plans and procedures, perform safety analysis and risk assessments, and research and develop new technologies\
  • Support trouble shooting efforts on automated systems and represent engineering in site and companywide efforts related to Industry 4.0\
  • $150,000 - $200,000 per year, based on location and experience\
  • Salary may vary depending on qualifications and performance\
  • Prioritize physical demands and requirements, ability to be on the factory floor for long periods of time, potentially working across shifts at times\
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles, moderate to noisy work environment\
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required\
  • 5 years of experience in automation engineering or similar field highly desirable\
  • Certifications or training in industry-specific software, such as CAD or machine learning algorithms, are a plus\
  • Must be able to pass a background check and provide references upon request
