Position Overview:

Bowery Farming is in search of a Process Engineering Specialist to enhance our Farm Design & Development team. This role will collaborate closely with our engineering, facilities, and launch teams to create top-tier processing solutions for our indoor vertical farms. The position involves travel to our farms, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 50%.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess current processes to identify inefficiencies and propose scalable, effective solutions with clear ROI justification.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to manage equipment supply for our network of farms.
  • Oversee the design and approval of manufacturing documentation, including the inspection of equipment, installation, commissioning, and transition to the Operations team.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in various processing room equipment.
  • Create internal training materials for the maintenance and operation of processing equipment.
  • Assist farm maintenance teams in troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in comprehensive product lifecycle validation, including process design and ongoing verification.
  • Proficient in developing design documentation such as functional specifications and operational manuals.
  • Experience managing expedited design/build projects or significant upgrade initiatives.
  • Familiarity with leading Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software, with a preference for AutoCAD and Solidworks.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a challenging environment.
