The Laboratory Assistant plays a vital role in the clinical laboratory, responsible for the receipt, identification, processing, and storage of biological specimens. This position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, identify, and process biological specimens, ensuring accurate labeling and storage.
- Perform various clerical and laboratory duties, including maintaining supply inventory, filing, and receiving shipments.
- Work with computer information systems to manage laboratory data and tasks.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and accurate specimen processing.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Knowledge of laboratory functions, medical terminology, and a background in science are preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical setting or laboratory environment is desired.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A competitive hourly rate of $23.67.
- A comprehensive benefits package.
- A full-time schedule with 80 hours per pay period.
- A Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends or Mayo holidays.
