Job Summary:

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preparation and serving of food items in accordance with assigned work instructions and menus. This position requires the ability to utilize various food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of a variety of food items in accordance with departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and work instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with food handling regulations and facility housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain high-quality food preparation and presentation standards.
  • Monitor and control food inventory, supplies, and equipment to ensure efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless food service operations.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred.
  • ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred.
