Job SummaryThis is a full-time position that requires a strong emphasis on education, collaboration, and patient-centered care. As a Wound Care Specialist, you will work closely with our nursing center management and staff, as well as clinical leadership and wound specialists, to effectively communicate with patients and their families regarding the prevention and management of skin and wounds.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and integrate a fully developed Skin Health and Wound Management program
- Use evidence-based guidelines to provide high-quality care
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to include nursing, therapy, dietitians, and others
- Support central supply and provide oversight for durable medical equipment related to wound care
- Participate in a bonus program for achieving nursing center skin health and pressure injury prevention goals and objectives
- Must possess a RN license
- Must complete Skin Health Team Lead orientation training and Wound Basics within 90 days of hire
- Commitment to attend monthly support calls is required
- Must have national accredited wound certification (CWS, CWCN, WCC, CWON, WOC, AWCC) or be committed to complete Advanced Wound Training and national accredited Wound Certification within 1 year of hire
