Job Summary:
TalentBurst is seeking a highly skilled Specimen Processing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Specimen Processing Department, you will be responsible for providing general support functions within the department. This role requires a strong data entry background and the ability to learn and understand specimen types related to test orders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform a variety of tasks including A-station, presort, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory
• Conduct imaging/microfilming, centrifugation and aliquoting as needed
• Maintain accurate records and data entry
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient specimen processing
• Adhere to quality control and compliance regulations
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Basic understanding of computers and laboratory testing preferred
• Previous laboratory experience a plus, but not required
• Medical background with medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory a plus
Work Environment:
• Work in a biohazard environment, practicing good safety habits
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff
• Adhere to core values, safety and compliance policies and procedures
