Foundation Relations Manager

The Ford Agency is seeking a highly skilled Foundation Relations Manager to join a local non-profit organization that provides critical support to families dealing with acute medical concerns. As a key member of the development team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strategic relationships with individual and corporate foundations, securing grants, and collaborating with leadership to develop stewardship plans.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and write compelling grant proposals, project concepts, and reports that showcase the organization's impact and mission.
- Proactively identify foundation prospects with the capacity for awards of $100k and build relationships with stakeholders at these foundations.
- Design and implement stewardship plans to ensure effective grant management and reporting.
- Track and manage grant applications and progress, ensuring timely submission and follow-up.
- Represent the organization at events and conferences, showcasing the organization's work and building relationships with potential funders.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as non-profit management, fundraising, or business.
- At least 5 years of experience in foundation or corporate fundraising, with a proven track record of securing grants and building relationships with funders.
- Strong stewardship and grant writing experience, with the ability to develop and implement effective grant management strategies.
- Knowledge of local foundations and their priorities, with the ability to identify and pursue opportunities for funding.
- Proficiency in Raiser's Edge or Salesforce, with the ability to track and manage grant applications and progress.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate the organization's mission and impact to diverse audiences.
Candidates for this position must be based in the DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
