Job Title: Senior Substation Engineer

At the Municipal Electric Authority of GA, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Substation Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Senior Substation Engineer will be responsible for the design and project engineering of substation projects, working closely with designers and drafters to develop drawing sets and other documentation required for implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support for substation projects, including the development of physical and control design packages.
  • Write specifications and review approval drawings for materials and equipment to be purchased, evaluating vendor qualifications and bids.
  • Evaluate engineering contractor qualifications and bids, making recommendations for contracting services for substation projects.
  • Prepare and administer contracts for engineering and construction projects.
  • Maintain a complete set of up-to-date design standards and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain communications with stakeholders to ensure safe and reliable operation of MEAG Power substations.
  • Represent MEAG Power in various meetings and committee meetings as necessary.
  • Provide cost estimates to planning for budgeting of proposed capital projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 7-10 years of demonstrated related experience in the electric utility industry, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Professional Engineer license desired.
  • Excellent communication skills and responsiveness.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
