Job Title: Clinical Nurse

At MD Anderson Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Nurse to join our team. As a Clinical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of nursing practice.

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and implement patient care across the continuum of care. You will be accountable for providing quality, evidence-based patient care through the appropriate use of resources in collaboration with the inter-professional team. Your role will involve acting as a patient and family advocate to uphold patient rights, organizing and prioritizing work of patient care team, and training, coaching, and assisting team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality and fiscally responsible patient care.
  • Proactively anticipate patient and family needs in collaboration with the Charge Nurse, Clinical Nurse Leader, and Nurse Manager.
  • Utilize available material resources responsibly for direct patient care.
  • Practice autonomously within the scope of professional nursing practice - patient care competency.
  • Participate in change initiatives.
  • Foster peer relationships and participate in coaching and mentoring.
  • Support an environment that values and respects the staff and patients - patient care competency.
  • Apply new and existing evidence in patient care standards, incorporating new knowledge, innovations, and improvements in clinical practice and the patient care delivery system - professionalism competency.
  • Comply with regulatory standards.
  • Foster an environment that challenges the status quo, embraces and promotes change.
  • Participate in assessing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of safe and effective patient and family care utilizing evidence-based and empirical outcome measurements.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • One year of acute care experience.
  • Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification if working in the following department: Nrsg Post Anesthesia Care Unit (600160).
