Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sales Manager to join our team at the Courtyard by Marriott Waterbury Downtown, managed by Moody National Management LP. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for planning, soliciting, booking, and coordinating room sales to meet or exceed hotel profit goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales and Revenue Generation
    • Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business through various channels to optimize room revenue
    • Develop and execute a sales plan, contribute to budget development, and monitor results
  • Customer Service and Relationship Building
    • Coordinate customer requirements with other departments and respond promptly to ensure a quality experience
    • Analyze competition, market trends, and customer feedback to enhance sales strategies
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise Sales Coordinators
  • Business Acumen and Technical Skills
    • Solid understanding of revenue management concepts
    • Extensive knowledge of brand programs, websites, and corporate accounts
    • Proficiency in brand systems and MS Office products
  • Personal Qualities and Skills
    • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and negotiation skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with all levels of management
    • Good management and supervisory skills
    • Excellent command of English; proficiency in a second language is a plus
    • Exceptional problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills
    • Customer-focused and able to work well in a team

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business, hospitality, or related field
  • 3+ years of hotel sales/marketing experience
  • 1+ years in a Sales management role
  • Proven track record in sales
  • Valid Driver License and transportation

Work Environment

  • Operates in a professional office setting with standard office equipment
  • Local and occasional national travel required
  • Flexible work hours depending on property needs
