Job Summary

The Chief Nursing Officer will be responsible for directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and supervising nursing and behavioral health services. This individual will provide strategic leadership and vision for nursing practice, ensuring the delivery of safe, timely, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care. The CNO will collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments, and administration to ensure that all patients' physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs are met.

Responsibilities
  • Set the vision for nursing practice and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that meet patients' needs.
  • Direct, supervise, and evaluate the work activities of nursing personnel.
  • Provide clinical leadership and strategic direction for the nursing department.
  • Anticipate and manage changes in census and acuity, allocating nursing resources accordingly.
  • Role model customer service expectations and demonstrate a sense of urgency related to patient safety.
  • Determine, assign, and assess performance objectives for the nursing department.
  • Organize, coordinate, develop, and review policies, procedures, and nursing protocols to meet regulatory, compliance, and quality care standards.
Qualifications
  • Current RN license.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is strongly preferred.
  • 6 or more years of nursing experience.
  • 3 or more years of progressive managerial experience required.
  • 3 or more years of behavioral health experience preferred.
