Job Title: Vice President Financial Services

Covenant Health, a leading healthcare organization in East Tennessee, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Financial Services to join its team.

About the Role:

The Vice President of Financial Services will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the strategic planning and fiscal resources of Covenant Medical Group. This individual will oversee the General Accounting, Cost Accounting, Accounts Payable, Budgeting, and Reimbursement functions, ensuring the financial stability and growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all financial resources, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Supervise the Financial Services Division, ensuring the achievement of strategic objectives and the effective management of human resources.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and other system members to promote high-quality service to patients.
  • Facilitate the provision of capital needs and ensure the timely filling of federal, state, third-party, and other financial reports.
  • Stay abreast of economic changes and new trends in healthcare, assessing their potential impact on operations and educating the Senior Leadership team.
  • Lead the organization by visualizing the future and guiding it financially, focusing on the future and utilizing resources to teach financial lessons learned from the past.
  • Provide budget planning guidelines, present budget and performance goals to the corporate office, and coordinate with Risk Management to ensure adequate insurance protection.
  • Supervise the investigation and analysis of costs, charges, rates, and make recommendations to support organizational activities.
  • Serve as an active member of the Senior Leadership Team of Covenant Medical Group and actively promote Covenant Health's desired culture and environment.
  • Maintain full knowledge of business results by Product Line and make strategic recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team based on projected future results.
  • Establish and maintain accounting systems to meet organizational needs and provide complete and accurate reports of assets, liability, and financial transactions.
  • Evaluate the information systems needs to support financial services and coordinate and assist in new applications development.
  • Review and analyze monthly financial statements and operating reports with the President & CAO and Vice Presidents, making recommendations concerning methods of cost containment and revenue enhancement.
  • Coordinate financial services functions with other hospital departments and affiliated companies and act as a resource for other departments in matters of record keeping and financial information processing.
  • Serve as liaison to corporate Information Services departments and perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:

Masters degree in Business Administration/Accounting or CPA. Seven (7) years experience, with experience in a large, multi-entity hospital setting preferred. None required for licensure.
