Lead Chemical Process Engineer

Catalent Inc. is seeking a Lead Chemical Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in the design and execution of chemical processes, as well as the integration of instrumentation and machinery.
This professional will bring their engineering expertise to enhance design and process development, assist in troubleshooting manufacturing operations related to equipment and systems, and propose innovative process formulas and technologies aimed at improving cost efficiency and product quality.
The successful candidate will define operating equipment specifications and refine manufacturing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide start-up, commissioning, and validation support for commercial-scale spray dryers, secondary dryers, encapsulators, and blistering machinery.
- Design, execute, and coordinate engineering studies to advance the understanding of Catalent's dry powder technology platform.
- Lead technical investigations related to equipment and processes.
- Offer subject matter expertise in technology transfer and scale-up initiatives.
- Drive problem-solving efforts concerning equipment and systems.
- Support manufacturing and engineering operations by drafting and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and Batch Records, providing production support, and training operators.
- Analyze engineering data and make recommendations for future process enhancements.
- Engage in the identification and assessment of new technologies and product opportunities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Experience in an FDA-regulated environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
- Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of equipment/process operating and design principles.
- Exceptional hands-on process and mechanical skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 15 pounds.
