Position Overview:
Under the guidance of an ABA supervisor, the role involves assisting clients in various educational environments, including home, community, and school settings. The primary responsibility is to implement comprehensive behavior intervention strategies tailored for specific clients. This position also includes participation in student progress discussions and providing essential support for clients' physical and hygienic needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the behavioral treatment plan as established by the BCBA, contributing to the development of individualized plans based on each client's unique needs.
- Deliver one-on-one and group instruction as directed by the BCBA, focusing on intensive behavior intervention in diverse settings.
- Support clients in home, community, and educational environments, ensuring the application of ABA principles for consistent care.
- Identify clients requiring additional support in movement skills and facilitate activities aimed at enhancing body awareness, balance, and agility.
- Assist clients with personal hygiene and self-care skills, including eating, washing, and toileting, while supporting caregivers in related programs.
- Document client progress through data collection and anecdotal notes, maintaining organized records of program activities and modifications.
- Collaborate with supervisors to assess and achieve client goals, preparing instructional materials as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training and meetings to stay informed about current ABA practices and methodologies.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding client records and ensure timely communication with caregivers.
- Monitor data input from direct staff and conduct necessary training sessions as directed by the BCBA.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all session equipment and adhere to health protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; BCAT certification required within a specified timeframe.
- Knowledge of child development and behavior management strategies, particularly for children with special needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Physical capability to meet the demands of the role, including lifting and assisting clients as necessary.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily conducted in an indoor office setting, requiring interaction with multiple individuals. The role may involve occasional evening or weekend work. The environment is collaborative, yet certain tasks necessitate independent work.
