Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe working environment.
  • Lead the Supplier Quality and Performance initiatives.
  • Assess, communicate, and enhance supplier quality standards.
  • Work in conjunction with Purchasing, Product, Plant Management, Operations Quality, and Service teams to evaluate supplier performance.
  • Design and implement incoming inspection sampling strategies.
  • Engage with suppliers at all levels to foster quality improvements.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations, training, and audits of supplier quality systems.
  • Collaborate with the strategic sourcing team to assess potential new suppliers and their capabilities.
  • Assist in resolving non-conformance issues related to purchased components and communicate findings to relevant parties to develop corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of 'Zero Defects' within the supply chain.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while effectively prioritizing tasks.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and leadership within the Quality team.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, operations management, or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing supplier quality role.
  • Familiarity with supplier quality systems and methodologies.
  • Training and experience in Continuous Improvement practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with Green and/or Black Belt training preferred.
  • Experience in change management and facilitation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across various cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated and action-oriented, with a hands-on approach when necessary.
  • Capability to navigate ambiguity and assist others in adapting to change.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end supply chain process.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull weights between 30-60 lbs.
  • Capacity to stand, bend, climb stairs, and use ladders.
  • Willingness to spend 60-70% of time on the production floor.
  • Willingness to travel to supplier locations and participate in industry events as required.
  • Flexibility to work early hours as needed.
