Zoology Collections Manager

Cincinnati Museum Center seeks a dynamic and self-motivated Manager to lead scientific and public-facing work in the Zoology collections. The successful candidate will have a background in the biological sciences and experience working in or managing a preserved zoological collection or DNA Lab.
The Manager will be responsible for digitizing collections data, managing collections databases, and caring for and maintaining collection specimens and spaces. They will also host visiting researchers in the collections, give guided tours of collections and research areas, and contribute to grant proposals for collections funding.
In addition, the Manager will assist the Zoology Curator with maintenance and operation of CMC's molecular genetics laboratory, including its DNA sequencers, PCR machines, frozen tissue collections, and associated equipment. They will also help train and supervise external partners, students, and interns.
The ideal candidate will have experience in live animal care and/or basic laboratory skills, and a Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
The typical work week is Monday-Friday business hours, but some evenings and weekends may be required for events and programs.
