Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Engagement Team Supervisor, the Engagement Clinician plays a crucial role in crafting and implementing targeted outreach and engagement initiatives.

The Engagement Clinician is responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and reporting on community engagement efforts aimed at removing obstacles to mental health service access and shaping organizational strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Engagement Team to develop effective community outreach strategies.
  • Conduct focus groups on relevant topics in partnership with the Engagement Team.
  • Engage directly with clients who frequently miss appointments to enhance compliance.
  • Identify and address barriers to appointment adherence.
  • Perform screenings and assessments within the community, linking clients to necessary care.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Deliver educational seminars to community providers on accessing mental health services effectively.
  • Work alongside community partners to dismantle barriers faced by constituents in accessing mental health services.
  • Conduct targeted outreach to underserved demographics regarding mental health service access.
  • Provide comprehensive reports on engagement and outreach efforts to guide agency-level strategy development.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure adherence to timelines set by performance indicator systems.
  • Support Access and Crisis Services as needed.
  • Fulfill all assigned duties to ensure the Engagement Team effectively reaches and educates underserved populations.
  • Achieve quarterly objectives and complete deliverables as specified in project plans, aiming for 50% billable time.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
Job Specifications

Knowledge:
Familiarity with engagement and outreach best practices, diversity and inclusion principles, and the Michigan community mental health system. A minimum of three years of experience working with community mental health populations is required. Understanding of current behavioral health service delivery methods, regulations, and standards is essential.

Skills:
Proficient in motivational interviewing, conducting focus groups, and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong presentation skills and the ability to design reports on outreach outcomes are necessary. Excellent interpersonal skills are vital for maintaining effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Abilities:
Must be able to function effectively as part of a team, maintain credentialed status, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Quick learning and adaptability to changes in job assignments or surroundings are essential, along with effective communication skills in both written and oral forms.
