Position Overview:
As a Mammography Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients. Your expertise will ensure the safety and comfort of patients during their imaging procedures.

Qualifications:
Completion of a two-year program in Radiologic Technology accredited by the American Medical Association or an equivalent medical imaging program is required. You must possess ARRT Certification in Radiology and obtain Mammography certification within one year of employment. A minimum of two years of experience in Radiology is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and execute imaging procedures tailored to patient needs, ensuring all exams fall within your scope of practice.
2. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology to optimize imaging procedures and enhance patient care and safety.
3. Minimize radiation exposure through proper shielding and selection of exposure factors.
4. Accurately document imaging activities in compliance with ACR and federal regulations.
5. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and technical personnel to address problems and implement effective solutions.
6. Instruct and mentor radiography students in a clinical environment.

Quality Control:
Conduct a full range of mammographic imaging quality control tests as per manufacturer guidelines and document results in the Mammography Quality Control Track module.

Professional Standards:
Exhibit exemplary imaging techniques and patient care in alignment with the ARRT Code of Ethics, departmental policies, and regulatory guidelines. Ensure immediate reporting of equipment malfunctions and maintain a clean, organized procedure area.

Patient Interaction:
Prepare necessary contrast agents and sterile trays for invasive procedures while demonstrating respect and dignity towards all patients and their families. Uphold confidentiality of all Protected Health Information.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in utilizing Epic and PACS systems is required. This position operates during standard daylight hours, Monday through Friday.
