About the Position

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) plays a critical role in leading the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in its technology initiatives. This position requires a visionary leader who can drive innovation and modernization of the department's technology strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with HHS's business goals and objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends that can drive innovation and adapt to changing opportunities.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to the HHS Chief Data Officer, Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, and Director of Digital Services Division.
  • Develop policy and strategic plans regarding technology, data, and AI in support of HHS priorities and goals.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance to cross-functional teams to solve business and operational issues related to technology.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience leading large complex technical programs at a federal agency or equivalent large corporate portfolio.
  • Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changing technology advances and develop strategies for new health technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout an organization.
