About the Role

QuidelOrtho is seeking a highly skilled Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for evaluating and optimizing our continuous improvement activities to drive business growth and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Cross-Functional Projects: Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Coach and Mentor Teams: Provide guidance and support to staff to achieve continuous improvement goals and develop a strong continuous improvement culture.
  • Drive Employee Engagement: Foster a culture of empowerment and engagement to drive business success.
  • Develop Performance Metrics: Establish and maintain organizational performance metrics to measure improvement and validate savings.
  • Eliminate Waste and Reduce Costs: Coordinate efforts to eliminate waste, reduce operating costs, and maximize throughput.
  • Carry Out Continuous Improvement Projects: Implement assigned projects to drive business excellence.
  • Develop and Deliver Training: Educate and engage staff in continuous improvement education and opportunities.
  • Support Quidel Management: Identify and plan continuous improvement opportunities to support business growth.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with CI Knowledge: Maintain personal knowledge and skill level in continuous improvement methodologies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: In a relevant field such as engineering, science, business, or operations.
  • Minimum 6 Years of Experience: In a continuous improvement or operational excellence function.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma: Demonstrated proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Ability to connect with and positively influence leadership and all levels of the organization.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Well-rounded problem solver who can look site-wide to integrate and streamline systems for optimal benefit.
  • Communication Skills: Great communicator with solid written, oral, and presentation-giving skills.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Intermediate level expertise using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Statistical Software: Intermediate or proficient knowledge in Statistical Software (Jump, Minitab, QI Macros, SPC XL).
Preferred Qualifications
  • LSS Green Belt Certification: Suggested, from an accredited institution with demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced level expertise using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Data Analytics: Practical application of data analytics or statistical process control in a production environment.
  • Business Intelligence Tools: Intermediate or proficient knowledge in Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau).
