About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Automation Specialist to join our team at Fidelity Information Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing large and complex solutions that require analysis and research. You will estimate time frames, quality, and quantity of resources required to successfully implement projects, conduct periodic status checks with clients and team to assess progress against the plan, and update project variables as necessary throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate known error conditions and follow prescribed error correction procedures.
  • Recognize abnormal processing conditions and determine appropriate actions required to resolve issue(s) and complete processing.
  • Maintain the production scheduling system and new/improved work procedures.
  • Research and resolve user problems as well as issues and problems with software systems, production processing, and production environments.
  • When solving a mainframe production or system problem, make effective use of tools and resources, utilize manuals, write-ups, and other tools as an aid in solving the problem. Contact others experienced in the area for ideas about the problem.
  • Follow escalation procedures when appropriate to resolve processing problems and user problems in a timely manner and meet service levels and other standards for the job.
  • Coordinate testing of applications, systems, processes, and procedures, hardware, and/or software changes.
  • Analyze and implement changes or additions to software systems and production procedures.
  • Train internal customers (employees) on changes, new systems, or new procedures.
  • May identify new tools, technology, or processes that improve the overall processing environment or processing efficiency.
  • Assist in the definition of external and internal customer problems and needs. Discuss expectations with customers. May explain solutions directly to customers where appropriate.
  • Maintain the production support disaster recovery/business continuity plans. Coordinate and conduct disaster recovery testing as required, document test results, and document modifications required for future testing.
  • Complete project assignments and special projects commensurate with job expectations.
  • Other related duties assigned as needed.
