Daily Responsibilities

Senior Communications Consultants are responsible for crafting open enrollment communication strategies for clients' annual benefits enrollment. The materials produced can include posters, postcards, benefit guides, microsites, videos, and more. A typical workday consists of 60% content creation, 20% project management, and 20% client consultation. Key responsibilities include:

Conducting client meetings and leading discussions on communication strategies with a consultative approach to develop engagement plans tailored to client needs Creating and revising various benefit communication materials, including benefit guides and educational inserts Overseeing multiple projects from inception to completion, coordinating timelines and prioritizing tasks for projects with tight deadlines Drafting content and managing edit rounds while ensuring the accuracy of final materials Providing product education and supporting special communication initiatives as required Assisting in the review of materials and providing support to colleagues as needed Continuously exploring and implementing new functionalities and industry best practices to enhance efficiency Staying informed about communication and benefit trends

Unique Aspects of This Role

Senior Communications Consultants operate independently as the communication experts for their clients. They manage open enrollment campaigns from design and content development to distribution and web integration, while benefiting from the support of a comprehensive communications team, including production, design, and web development. Collaboration with Health Solutions and Account Management is essential to customize campaigns that effectively reach clients' employee populations.

Qualifications for Success

Over 5 years of experience in content creation or project management; experience in HR and benefits content is preferred Proven ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while fostering relationships and working both independently and collaboratively Strong client service skills with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities Critical thinking skills and the ability to work consultatively across departments and with clients Experience in delivering precise, timely, and engaging communications through both print and digital channels

Education : Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
