Job Description

As a key member of our team at Yale New Haven Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Inpatient Psych RN to join our psychiatric unit. The ideal candidate will possess excellent assessment and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' physical and psychosocial conditions, developing individualized care plans to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Implement and coordinate care plans, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans, making revisions as needed and referring patients to specialist services when indicated.
  • Provide education to patients and families, assessing individual learning needs and readiness for discharge.
  • Function as a preceptor to new staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities, demonstrating leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Meet performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, and staff development, as outlined in performance reviews.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a BSN preferred.
  • Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
