We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Physician Assistant to join our team in Correctional Health Services. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and compassionate professional to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals in need.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide high-quality psychiatric care to patients in a correctional setting, including admission evaluations, follow-ups, and urgent consultations. They will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans and provide education to patients on medication management and adherence.
Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric care to patients, including admission evaluations, follow-ups, and urgent consultations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the mental health care team
- Evaluate patients for the need for higher-level care, including hospitalization, and escalate care as clinically appropriate
- Provide patient education on medication management and adherence, as well as aftercare services
- Document all activities in the electronic medical record in a timely and concise manner
- Bachelor's Degree
- New York State Certified Physician's Assistant
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician's Assistants
- At least 3 years of hospital or outpatient clinical experience as a PA in Behavioral Health
