Qualifications

A formal degree is not necessary; however, a High School Diploma or GED is preferred. Effective communication skills with colleagues, customers, and management are essential. Candidates must be organized and capable of engaging with a diverse workforce. Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, are required.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities
  • Handles all donations with care and respect.
  • Sorts donated and purchased items into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, outlet, and trash, following established guidelines.
  • Inspects donated and purchased items to assess quality, identifying suitable items for the sales floor, recycling, and online sales.
  • Identifies and prices items using the AMI pricing software guidelines.
  • Maintains high quality and quantity standards while working efficiently.
  • Stocks, organizes, and ensures the cleanliness of the entire store area in accordance with standards.
  • Provides positive customer service interactions, including greetings, assistance, and appreciation, to in-person customers, donors, and those over the phone. Upholds cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
  • Establishes and maintains positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership, collaborating cross-functionally with other teams to enhance communication.
  • Utilizes safe work practices through awareness and observation, contributing to a hazard-free workplace by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways clear.
  • Maintains a professional appearance at all times, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
  • Safeguards agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
  • Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
