Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machine Tool Specialist to join our team at Swift Placement & Consulting. As an Applications Engineer for CNC Machines, you will play a critical role in providing technical support and expertise to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical information and support on the use of Mazak machine tools to produce customer parts and products efficiently and with robust quality.
  • Assist Sales staff in providing technical information and support to customers.
  • Proactively maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Provide telephone and email customer support on the operation and use of Mazak Products.
  • Recommend part processing and machine settings to best produce customer parts as stated part volumes.
  • Calculate time study estimates of machine cycle time and cost to manufacture customer parts.
  • Conceptually design work holding and tooling as needed to support the manufacture of customer parts.
  • Demonstrate machine operation and features at tradeshows and open house events.
  • Safely rig and install machines in Technology Centers and at trade show events.
  • Provide customer training on safe machine operation and detailed machine functions at the customer facility.
  • Perform test cuts to demonstrate machine capability and prove processing concepts.
  • Perform full-turn key process development and testing, including statistical analysis of part measurement.
Requirements
  • Associates degree or certification in a related technical field plus two years of experience in a machine tool related field, or three to five years' experience in a related position.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with upper management, vendors, and customers.
  • Experience working effectively in a team environment with other engineers.
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically strong in Excel.
  • Experience with Mazatrol, EIA/G-Code Programming, CAD/CAM Programming software, Esprit or Mastercam, Fusion 360 or other.
