Typical Responsibilities of a Refrigeration Systems Technician:
Compensation: $43.00 DOE
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair components on trucks, trailers, and V-series refrigeration units.
  • Diagnose and repair gensets and APU components.
  • Maintain transport refrigeration systems on various vehicles by utilizing diagnostic tools, electronic testing equipment, and onboard computers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, component replacements, and servicing of refrigeration equipment.
  • Review shop orders, write estimates, and document repairs needed or completed while communicating directly with customers.
  • Repair failures by removing, replacing, and testing components with a multimeter.
  • Address freon leaks and assemble/install parts using soldering techniques and refrigeration tools.
  • Install new Thermo King units on trailers, trucks, V-series, and APUs (training available).
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience with Thermo King or Carrier refrigeration units.
  • Must possess mechanical expertise in heavy diesel equipment and electrical diagnostics.
