Job Title: Principal Radio Frequency Engineer

The Principal Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer will be responsible for leading the research and development of RF spectrum technologies to support the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Tactical Electronic Warfare Division (TEWD). The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of digital signal processing concepts and communication technologies, as well as experience in design, development, and implementation of EW systems or high-power microwave systems for DoD applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement RF spectrum technologies to support NRL TEWD
  • Collaborate with government scientists and engineers to advance existing R&D projects
  • Investigate and propose novel solutions related to the application of RF energy to electronic warfare, countermeasures, and directed energy for the U.S. Navy
  • Assess studies and phenomenology and translate technical solutions into proof-of-concept approaches
  • Develop and test prototype systems in laboratory and field environments
Requirements:
  • 20+ years of experience in a physics or engineering field (15+ with PhD)
  • Experience in design, development, and implementation of EW systems or high-power microwave systems for DoD applications
  • Strong understanding of digital signal processing concepts and communication technologies
  • Must have demonstrated experience with RF measurements and writing associated test plans
  • Must have a Top-Secret Clearance
Education:
  • Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Physics or Engineering discipline
Salary and Benefits:
  • $140,000.00 - $160,000.00

Please note that U.S. citizenship is required for this position, and a Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
