Job Overview

Position Summary: The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for orchestrating the daily and weekly scheduling of drivers to ensure optimal freight coverage in an efficient and cost-effective manner. This role involves effective communication and dissemination of appointment schedules to IMC drivers, owner-operators, and fleet personnel. The coordinator will facilitate coordination among all IMC locations to enhance drivers' productivity and assist them with equipment concerns, delays, billing issues, and any additional requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize independent judgment and discretion to address customer inquiries, schedule appointments, and assign orders to specific drivers for road, local, or city routes.
  • Dispatch assignments and necessary communications to drivers via their tablets.
  • Manage driver service discrepancies, including the authority to issue verbal or written warnings, and liaise with the Manager/Cargo Specialist regarding any failures. Implement THS as required.
  • Apply additional charges as necessary and inform customer service of any modifications.
  • Maintain and track GIS yard reports, MDR, CNI, and Divisional Pool metrics.
  • Engage actively in the recruitment and retention of drivers.
  • Monitor the XRS System to assist drivers in managing their schedules effectively.
  • Request rail billing as needed.
  • Review preliminary payroll data.
  • Perform DI duties as requested when necessary.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient data entry skills; Strong communication and organizational abilities.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Familiarity with DOT Regulations; Understanding of Hazardous Materials; Computer literacy; Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with Import/Export container processes.

Supervision Structure:

Reports to: Operation Manager

Supervises: Drivers

Driver compensation details; Customer accounts; Dispatch operations.
