AECOM is in search of a skilled and driven Power Systems Engineer to join their dynamic Transportation division. This role presents the chance to engage in a diverse range of projects, encompassing various infrastructures such as repair facilities, transit stations, high-voltage substations, and electrified rail systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive design drawings and documentation, alongside technical specifications and cost assessments related to power systems.
- Execute electrical power and lighting designs for projects of varying scales.
- Make significant design recommendations and decisions, collaborating with senior engineers.
- Organize design tasks, estimate costs, and schedule timelines, delegating responsibilities to junior team members.
- Create one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, as well as conduit and cable sizing/routing.
- Design substation layouts, select appropriate substation equipment, and draft specifications for said equipment.
- Coordinate design efforts and timelines with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, mechanical, and technology teams.
- Utilize sound judgment in selecting and adapting engineering alternatives.
- Produce designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and final working drawings under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Conduct engineering calculations and develop visual aids and drawings.
- Maintain thorough project documentation and design data for ongoing reference.
- Ensure work aligns with established budgets and schedules while under supervision.
- Provide guidance and review correspondence from junior project team members.
- Analyze challenges and compile reports.
- Assist in quality control checks for other projects.
- Conduct site investigations and assessments.
Qualifications:
