Healthcare Access Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at TEKsystems. As a Patient Services Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Scheduling and Registration: Schedule and register patient appointments, and provide information for other requests, such as addresses, directions, phone numbers, and hours of operation.
- Communication and Customer Service: Process all phone, fax, email, and other communication channel requests with an emphasis on efficiency and accuracy. Answer, screen, and process a high volume of incoming calls in a professional manner.
- Patient Support: Assist new members with introduction to and explanation of available services, processes, and availability of providers. Update patients of the status of their referral or authorizations.
- Appointment Scheduling: Direct patient access to the practice by scheduling and canceling patient appointments for multiple providers. Utilize and adhere to a phone script, clinical decision trees, and scheduling criteria following department guidelines.
- Communication and Coordination: Communicate with patients and internal and external ordering physicians' offices, complex exam preparation instructions, including pre-procedure laboratory test requirements and other necessary preparations instructions. Send out accurate and complete communication to physicians or other healthcare providers.
- 3-4 weeks of training, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm
- 20 hours a week, with varying schedules, including high call volume days and shorter shifts
