Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute the complete month-end closing process to guarantee precise and timely financial statements.
  • Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to uphold the accuracy and reliability of financial information.
  • Track and record prepaid and deferred expenses accurately.
  • Maintain comprehensive fixed asset records and compute depreciation and amortization in line with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation for annual audits.
  • Identify and evaluate financial challenges, risks, and opportunities within the organization.
  • Deliver clear and concise reports along with recommendations to the VP of Finance to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Prepare and submit accurate sales and use tax returns promptly, along with other state tax filings as required.
  • Review and enhance departmental processes and procedures.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to boost operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • High School Diploma.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Proficiency in General Ledger and Advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint is highly advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of Cognos or similar ERP software applications.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and strong problem-solving skills.
