Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary aim of the Event Setup Specialist is to deliver outstanding service for resort gatherings by aiding in the organization and upkeep of banquets and events. This role involves the preparation, dismantling, and post-event tidying of all designated functions. This is a seasonal role requiring assistance throughout the busy event period.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and dismantle banquet and event spaces according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO) specifications, including arranging tables, linens, settings, centerpieces, and all necessary event supplies.
  • Ensure that all areas are correctly arranged and ready for service at the scheduled time.
  • Monitor guests to fulfill additional requests and anticipate their future needs.
  • Deliver friendly and professional service with genuine attention to guest satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns.
  • Collaborate with the guest contact, banquet servers, conference service manager, and kitchen staff to ensure precise setup.
  • Actively engage in pre-event meetings.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of banquet areas before, during, and after events.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to respond swiftly and accurately to guest requests.
  • Exhibit professionalism, enthusiasm, responsibility, and reliability as a team member.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure in a high-volume setting.
  • Willingness to collaborate with team members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to understand simple instructions, brief correspondence, and memos.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior experience in a restaurant or customer service environment is preferred.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

  • No previous experience or formal training is required.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • Food Handlers Permit or completion of certification within the first 30 days of employment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This role is primarily indoors (90%) with some outdoor exposure (10%) and may involve working in wet, hot, or cold conditions.
  • Moderate noise levels, which may occasionally be loud.
  • Availability to work during the day, evening, night, weekends, and/or occasional holidays.
  • High traffic and volume environment requiring prolonged periods of standing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift, pull, push, and transport items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, squat, and reach for items at various heights.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Navigate safely around busy tables and kitchen areas.
