We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team at Children's Health Council. As a key member of our interdisciplinary clinic, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive speech and language services to children from infancy through adolescence.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of speech, language, and communication disorders in children, including comprehensive interviews with parents and/or treating speech language pathologists, interpretation of previous testing, administration of current testing, scoring, and interpretation of tests, and provision of recommendations and feedback to parents.
- Clinical Interview and Observation: Perform comprehensive clinical interviews with parents and conduct on-site school observations when necessary.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in team or single-discipline parent conferences and collaborate with the team to compile diagnostic team reports or summaries.
- Therapy and Treatment Planning: Provide speech and language therapy to address speech and language deficits in children with communication delays, develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment results and family input, and implement evidence-based therapy to address a range of speech and language disorders.
- Documentation and Communication: Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes, and coordinate clinical care with other disciplines, including SLP, OT, Education, and Psychiatry.
- Family Support and Education: Educate and support families, providing them with the tools and strategies to reinforce therapy goals at home, and participate in outreach, care consultation programs, parent education, group treatment, and professional development as requested by the manager.
- Professional Development: Conduct in-service training and seminars at CHC or within the community, including continuing education and parent education, as requested, and attend clinical staff and team meetings as assigned and serve on committees as needed to ensure program and service quality.
- Education and Certification: Master's degree or higher in Speech and Language Pathology, valid Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech and Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and valid California State license and State of California credential with authorization in Language, Speech, and Hearing.
- Experience: Three years post-licensure experience in a pediatric clinic or school setting preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Knowledge and understanding of CHC's four areas of expertise: ADHD, LD, Anxiety & Depression, and Autism Spectrum Disorders, ability and desire to work as part of an interdisciplinary clinic, practical clinical experience preferably in an interdisciplinary setting, exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and written communication skills, and willingness and flexibility to schedule appointments when clients and families are available.

To meet the needs of our clients, after-school availability in the afternoon and evening hours is required, with a preference for availability between 2-6pm.
CompensationThe starting base salary for this position is $55.00 to $65.00 per hour, with pay type being hourly. The actual base salary is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
