Job Overview

As the Manager of Military Integrated Performance and Operability, you will oversee the Performance Engineering Methods team, focusing on the development and maintenance of engine cycle models. This role involves leading a multifaceted team across preliminary design, new product introduction (NPI), and production platforms. You will implement robust processes and adhere to industry standards in the creation and maintenance of engine cycle and data reduction models for all GE Aerospace Military product lines, ensuring they meet both internal and external customer needs. Your leadership will emphasize Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost to enhance operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management
  • Develop and execute plans to fulfill technical and program requirements, timelines, and contractual obligations.
  • Assess staffing requirements and align teams with program goals.
  • Oversee resource management, scope, budget, and proposal submissions.
  • Integrate processes to satisfy customer and business demands, contributing to long-term strategic planning.
People Leadership:
  • Articulate a clear vision and strategic direction for the team.
  • Encourage the growth and development of a diverse team through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
  • Organize and prioritize team assignments and individual objectives to meet overall goals.
  • Guide and support the team in problem-solving and conflict resolution using established methodologies.
Technical Management:
  • Provide resources and mentorship to ensure compliance with engine cycle models, data reduction models, and component mapping.
  • Ensure the team delivers models that conform to best practices in physics-based modeling and computational robustness.
  • Manage relevant program requirements and associated risks.
  • Contribute to advancements in modeling capabilities and innovative architectures aligned with customer requirements and technology roadmaps.
  • Participate in the testing of equipment and entire engine systems, collaborating on optimal testing strategies and measurement systems.
  • Ensure adherence to standard work practices and contribute to necessary updates.
Horizontal Leadership:
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines and business divisions as required.
  • Take ownership of enterprise processes, tools, and lean initiatives.
  • Lead initiatives in performance engineering methods and related disciplines.
Communication and Accountability:
  • Ensure the team provides clear and insightful presentations to stakeholders.
  • Accountable for executing, monitoring, and communicating project status and significant developments to leadership.
  • Proactively address customer and business concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding technical, organizational, resource, and personnel matters.
Documentation and Compliance:
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data in accordance with engineering policies.
  • Implement company compliance initiatives and training requirements within the team.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a leadership or program management role.
Desired Characteristics
  • Master's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Engine Performance, Operability, Controls, Performance Methods, or a related field.
  • Experience in legacy product support, NPI certification/qualification, and technology development.
  • Prior experience in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated systems thinking capabilities.
  • Experience working with Department of Defense customers and processes.
  • Familiarity with GE Aerospace financial and program management tools.
  • Proven track record in building customer relationships.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities.
  • Proven ability to lead by influence.
