Education Specialist Teacher

At Focused Staffing, we are seeking a highly qualified Education Specialist Teacher to join our team. As an integral part of our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special needs.
Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Description- Core Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing consultation and guidance on the use of innovative special education strategies and technologies.
- Complete academic assessments and write assessment reports to prepare for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Develop, write, and manage IEPs that include annual goals for students with special needs.
- Coordinate appropriate curricular resources to ensure IEP objectives are met in an organized and sequential manner.
- Attend staff trainings, meetings, committees, and teacher meetings to stay updated on best practices.
- Ensure all students on your caseload are making progress on all goals.
- Collaborate with specialists and school staff to monitor student progress throughout the year.
- Provide direct support services as needed to students in accordance with their IEP and Support assigned students receiving these services.
- Follow-up with other service providers to confirm that IEP attendance, reports, and services are being completed.
- Schedule and hold individual monthly phone conferences with general education teachers and families of students assigned to your caseload.
- Maintain ongoing contact logs and service logs to track student progress.
- Be available for families on your caseload or assigned to your SAI services on an as-needed basis via phone and online during school hours.
- Draft Assessment Plans, Prior Written Notices, and other IEP-related documents to send within established timelines.
- Complete IEP Progress Reports for each student, including Related Services Provider progress as reported by the Related Services Providers.
- Coordinate IEPs and follow up on attendees to ensure timely completion.
- Ensure all documents are submitted and available prior to IEP meeting.
- Send all reports to parents and obtain signatures on Assessment Plans and/or IEP documents.
- Draft Individualized Transition Plans (ITPs) and hold transition meetings as appropriate.
- Monitor confidential tracking databases for returned IEPs.
- Follow up with parent, teacher, and/or service provider concerns.
- Update appropriate databases with services, accommodations, IEP dates, and other necessary information.
- Highly Qualified Status: Bachelor's degree required.
- Teaching Experience: Two years of teaching experience in a high-need, high-performing school and evidence of impact on student learning in that setting preferred.
