Position Summary

The Building Operations Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the functionality and safety of our facilities. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the optimal performance of our buildings, contributing to a safe and efficient workspace for all employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and perform repairs in carpentry, drywall, electrical systems, and painting.
  • Assist in upholding the aesthetic and operational standards of the property.
  • Utilize a maintenance tracking system to document work performed, materials used, and any maintenance issues identified.
  • Help manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
  • Identify and report any operational faults or safety hazards to the appropriate management.
  • Support office moves, event setups, and furniture arrangements as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory standards to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Participate in training programs related to safety and emergency procedures.
  • Be available for shift work, including evenings and weekends, as well as emergency response when necessary.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in commercial maintenance; basic electrical knowledge is essential.
  • Completion of an associate degree, trade school certification, or equivalent training in a technical field is preferred.
  • Proficient in the safe and effective use of maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics, following both written and verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, structured environment.
  • Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Ability to work safely under general supervision and manage time effectively to complete tasks.
  • Physical capability to perform various tasks, including lifting, climbing, and prolonged standing.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general software navigation.
