Job Summary

The Bakery Assistant will be responsible for preparing baked goods, including bread, rolls, and pastries, as well as decorating cakes and operating equipment such as bread slicers and mixers. This is a temporary, non-benefited position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare baked goods by assembling ingredients, weighing and measuring, and operating equipment according to standard procedures.
  • Decorate cakes and other baked goods with icing and add fillings to various pastries.
  • Inspect baking ingredients for spoilage and perform related duties such as cleaning and sterilizing equipment.
  • Cut, bag, and wrap baked goods for delivery to other locations.
Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret weights and measures tables.
  • Ability to calculate percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others.
Work Environment
  • Repetitive movements, including pulling, pushing, bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting.
  • Standing for prolonged periods and balancing and carrying.
Salary Information
  • $21.00 per hour.
